About Us

Scotcher & Co was established in 1991 by Tony Scotcher who initially followed his father and uncle into local estate agents Sir Francis Pittis & Son in 1979. In the mid 1980’s that company was taken over by Prudential Property Services during which time Tony was asked to establish a branch of their commercial estate agency here on the Island.

1991 saw Tony take the bold step, as part of a management buyout, of taking the business on in his own name, covering the whole Island from the current office in Newport the Island’s County Town and administration centre.

Tony and Scotcher & Co have subsequently acted for numerous and varied clients during the past 20 years or so and now bring that extensive experience to bear on the current market. This, with Tony’s local knowledge, which is second to none, often benefits his clients and customers alike.

Tony was born on the Island and has experienced the ups and downs of Island life and today lives with his wife Sarah and their two children in a village in the picturesque West Wight.

During early 2006 Scotcher & Co was joined by Jane Midson who moved to the Island with her family from Cambridgeshire quickly becoming an integral and valued member of the team.
